THE SHOP

We'd rather show you the work than tell you about it.

Rive Autohaus is a paint-protection studio in metro Detroit. We hand-cut film, coat, tint, correct, and detail — and we do it in a bright, clean bay where you can watch the cut line go on. The whole idea here is restraint: earn your trust by showing you the edge, not by stacking up adjectives.

How we think about it

The detail is the point.

Anyone can slap on a kit. The work we care about is the part most people never look at — the relief cut on a tight curve, the edge finished clean where it meets the panel. We cut to your car, on-site, because that's the only way the edges come out right. If you know where to look, you can see the difference. We'll show you where to look.

WHY WE'RE STRAIGHT WITH YOU

Most people who walk in have been burned or have read the threads — bubbling edges, "scratch-proof, hardness-rated" claims that fell apart, a lifetime warranty that meant nothing. So we tell you what protection actually does and what it doesn't, before you spend anything. Sometimes that means talking you out of the bigger job. We'd rather do that than sell you something that won't hold.

THE BAY

It's a lit, disciplined room — white tile, a clean grey floor, good light — because you can't do careful work in a dark cave, and you can't inspect an edge you can't see. When you come by, you'll see the actual room the work happens in.

WHO'S HERE

The owner runs the shop and the bay.

We also work alongside Austin, who teaches the craft and is affiliated with the shop. A fair number of the people doing good work around here have crossed paths with one of his classes at some point — which is a long way of saying we're not worried about where else you look.

We're a certified XPEL installer, which is how the film and tint carry XPEL's manufacturer backing.
